There are a lot of words which can describe this term. For me sound is an endless thing to evolve. It can be produced intentionally or accidentally, can be disturbing or soothing. So the starting point in making work - what do I want to translate through sound, what should it be like?
Talking in terms of this project, the sound which is typically is a secondary thing becomes a point of concentration. We are showing in some way a shadow side of our practices.
The sound of heartbeat is the most fascinating thing for me. It is a thing that we don't care about, but it is produced by the key element of our body, which keeps us alive every second. This audio gives me a hightened sense of being alive and present. I literally can be in tears when I listen to it.
In opposite, the thing listening to which is hard for me - crying baby. In most cases you can't do anything with it and it it is almost impossible to abstract from it.
In my personal practice the sound was not playing a special role, but this year it became something unique for me. For now I’m working with various kinds of human traces and sound is one
of them. I’m searching for different ways of showing my heartbeat through other activity. So, for example, clicking the flashlight in sync with my heart is one of ways of its’ representation, both visual and audio.
